s directed movies\nat Peabody Heights Brewery!\n\nI Saw The TV Glow - "Tee
nager Owen is just trying to make it through life in the\nsuburbs when his
classmate Maddy introduces him to a mysterious TV show — a\nvision of a s
upernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the\ntelevision\,
Owen’s view of reality begins to crack."\n\nThe People's Joker - "An aspi
ring clown grappling with her gender identity\ncombats a fascistic caped c
rusader."\n\n\n\nTrans Rights Advocacy Coalition\n\nTRAC continues to be e
ntirely trans-led and has more than 100 members and\norganizations dedicat
ed to advancing progress for trans Marylanders. With TRAC's\nleadership\,
the General Assembly passed the Trans Health Equity Act in 2023\n[https://
	mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Legislation/Details/HB0283?ys=2023RS]\,\nen
suring that Marylanders on Medicaid have the same access to gender-affirmi
ng\ncare as those on other insurance plans.\n\nTRAC was instrumental in pu
shing Governor Moore to protect access to\ngender-affirming care in Maryla
nd. On June 6th\, 2023\, the governor signed\nExecutive Order 01.01.2023.0
	8\n[https://governor.maryland.gov/Lists/ExecutiveOrders/Attachments/11/EO_
01.01.2023.08_accessible.pdf]\nand declared that Maryland would continue t
o be a safe and welcoming place for\ntrans people seeking care.\n\nTo cont
inue this work during the 2024 session\, we led advocacy on SB119\n[https:
	//mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Legislation/Details/sb0119]\, which\nprot
ects gender-affirming care patients\, providers\, and support networks fro
m\nout-of-state harassment and litigation. SB119 was passed and signed int
o law by\nthe governor\, making Maryland the 12th state in the country to
	have a shielding\nlaw that includes gender-affirming care.\n\nOur other po
licy focus is improving the treatment\, rights\, and dignity of\nincarcera
ted transgender and gender-expansive people in Maryland. We've\nsuccessful
ly lobbied for budget language that requires the Department of Public\nSaf
ety and Correctional Services to write an annual report on the treatment o
f\nincarcerated trans people\, and are working to collect stories and inpu
t from the\nincarcerated trans community.\n\nOur organizing is based in a
consensus and community-building model that centers\nracial justice and qu
eer liberation. We take the health and wellness of our\ncommunity members
very seriously\, and make sure to leave space for joy\, care\,\nand rest.
